We Are Creating a Modern Training Center Together with Toyota

Date: 09.10.2026

Wrocław University of Technology (our Faculty) and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Poland (TMMP) will establish a joint training center for modern production management methods. Students, doctoral candidates, and researchers will be able to use the center.

A letter of intent regarding this matter was signed by Prof. Arkadiusz Wójs, rector of WUT, and Tadahiko Nakamura, vice president of TMMP.

The new Toyota Production System DOJO / LEAN center will enable classes to be conducted in workshop, project-based, and simulation formats, utilizing case studies, process exercises, and examples drawn from industrial practice.

The project combines the potential of our university with the experience of one of the most recognized industrial partners in the areas of process improvement, quality, work standardization, and a culture of continuous improvement.

“Behind Toyota’s success lies the Japanese school of management and the company’s unique philosophy based on continuous development, observation, and respect for people. These values are also closely aligned with the mission of the Wrocław University of Technology, which is why I hope our collaboration will be extremely successful and that the center will serve our students, researchers, and the business community,” said Prof. Arkadiusz Wójs.

In his remarks, Tadahiko Nakamura emphasized that the signing of the agreement is an important step in strengthening the partnership between the academic community and the industrial sector.

“A responsible company should not only be a good employer but also an active member of the local community, contributing to its development—including by supporting youth education. We have been collaborating with WUT students for many years, and this partnership brings mutual benefits. Students gain insight into the realities of the industry, while the company benefits from the energy and fresh perspectives of young people,” explained Tadahiko Nakamura.

The agreement also provides, among other things, for the joint development of the substantive and functional concept for the center’s operations, the design of thematic modules to be implemented at individual training locations, and study visits for students, doctoral candidates, and academic staff.

The training center will operate at our Faculty as part of the Synergy Point laboratory. This project received an honorable mention in this year’s Polytechnica Nova competition.

The unit combines educational, research, and outreach activities closely related to modern project management methods (including urban projects) and business process management (with an emphasis on sustainable development).
