Notice for foreign nationals – changes in the procedure for applying for temporary residence (from 27 April 2026)

From the 27th of April 2026, due to the amendment in legislation of the Foreigners Act, there is a new, exclusive method for submitting applications for temporary residence permits – via the nationwide MOS 2.0 system. Applications submitted in any other way (in person at the Office or by post) will not be processed. 
In case of applying for a temporary residence permit for the purpose of study, it is required to attach to the application in the MOS system the  Attachment 5, which replaces the previous certificate obtained from the university.

Procedure for obtaining Annex 5:

• The foreign student completes the form in the MOS system and enters the university’s email address:

* for students who commenced their studies on or after 1 October 2025: zaswiadczenie_uw_w8n@pwr.edu.pl
* for students who commenced their studies before 1 October 2025: admission@pwr.edu.pl

• Once the student has entered the required details, Attachment 5 is automatically forwarded to the university.
• An authorised university staff member completes the document and signs it with a qualified digital signature.
• The signed document is returned to the student via the MOS system.
• The student attaches Attachment 5 to their application via the MOS 2.0 system.
