Prof. Katarzyna Tworek and Prof. Rafał Weron have received research grants as part of this year's OPUS competition organized by the National Science Centre.

• Prof. Katarzyna Tworek's research is on “Strategies for Counteracting False Leadership in Higher Education Institutions.” The grant amount is PLN 398,940. The STOP-FL project examines the phenomenon of false leadership in higher education institutions. Its aim is not only to develop models explaining the impact of such leadership on the effectiveness, reliability, and stability of these institutions, but above all to identify effective strategies to counteract the negative effects of such leadership. The effectiveness of the proposed strategies will be verified on the basis of international surveys. As a result, recommendations will be developed on how to increase the resilience of higher education institutions to the phenomenon of false leadership and how to protect employees from its negative effects.
• The subject of Prof. Rafał Weron's research is “Temporal hierarchies for electricity price forecasting (THRIFT)”. Amount of funding: PLN 999,180. The aim of the project is to develop models using temporal hierarchies that can be constructed for any time series by means of aggregation in the time domain. Preliminary research conducted in collaboration with Skövde AI Lab in Sweden indicates a significant improvement in the accuracy of forecasts for a large class of models, from regression to foundation models. This could revolutionize electricity price forecasting, especially in light of the growing importance of block contracts.
